Hippocratic AI is building safety-focused large language models (LLMs) for the healthcare industry. Our team comprises ex-researchers from Microsoft, Meta, Nvidia, Apple, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and Hugging Face, reinventing the next generation of foundation model training and alignment to create AI-powered conversational agents for real-time patient-AI interactions. About the Role:

We are seeking an

Agent Architect

to design, develop, and innovate the next generation of agentic systems that drive our healthcare-focused AI platform. This key role involves shaping how our agents think, act, and interact across various clinical use cases. You will be responsible for selecting appropriate agentic paradigms—such as tool use, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and model training—and defining the architecture for safe, intelligent, and responsive agents. Collaboration with research, engineering, and evaluation teams will be essential to integrate cutting-edge techniques and push the boundaries of agent capabilities. This position combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and experimentation. It is ideal for individuals passionate about LLM system design, product innovation, and applied AI research. Responsibilities:

Architect and design new AI agents for diverse clinical and operational use cases Evaluate and select optimal agentic paradigms for each scenario (e.g., tools, engines, prompting, RAG, model training) Choose models from our internal library tailored to specific tasks Collaborate with research teams to fine-tune models and optimize agent behavior Define and iterate on evaluation protocols with the evaluation team Develop new agent workflows to enable innovative capabilities Incorporate state-of-the-art techniques from scientific literature and open-source developments Integrate capabilities from emerging foundational models to enhance system performance Required Qualifications:

5+ years in software engineering, machine learning, data science, or AI product development Deep understanding of agentic system design and language model behaviors Proficiency in Python and modern ML tooling Experience building and evaluating non-deterministic AI/ML systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an experimental mindset Familiarity with LLM paradigms such as prompting, RAG, fine-tuning, and tool use Preferred Skills:

Experience designing agentic workflows or orchestration frameworks for LLMs Background in AI research or exposure to NLP developments Ability to translate complex technical ideas into scalable architectures Interest in healthcare applications, patient interaction design, and safety-critical systems Excellent communication skills for documenting design decisions and evaluations Candidate Background:

We recognize that agent architecture is a novel and rapidly evolving field. Ideal candidates may come from applied ML engineering, AI product design, prompt engineering, or NLP research roles. If you are excited about designing intelligent systems and shaping how LLMs interact with the world safely and impactfully, we encourage you to apply. Why Join Our Team:
