Job Description: The Ryan White Insurance Coordinator will serve as the subject matter expert to provide oversight medical and dental insurance policy selection, and enrollment for the Ryan White Part B Program clients.
Six hundred clients are presently enrolled in Ryan White Part B managed health or dental insurance. The Coordinator is also responsible for assisting with the development of grant activities and leading implementation to assure all program goals and objectives are met.
Funding for this position is through a federal grants from the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA).
The Ryan White Insurance Coordinator will: Monitor all existing Insurance enrollments to detect ineligible clients, terminate policies when needed, and monitor premium payments to prevent over or under payment; Develop procedural insurance manuals and protocols, templates, and forms for project sponsors and program staff to use; Assess the Nebraska Health Insurance marketplace plans to determine the cost-effectiveness of insurance plans, with regard to Ryan White specific client requirements, at least annually; Conduct audits and site visits and prepare reports; Review and interpret laws, regulations and statutory accounting principles as they apply to the insurance aspect of the Ryan White Part B program; Review sub-recipient and contractor invoices and perform compliance testing to ensure compliance and mitigate risk of future and repeat audit findings; Provide guidance on sub-recipient monitoring and insurance requirements; Assist the Ryan White Part B program with processing client Medical claims; Work with Providers to ensure invoices are processed; Help enroll Ryan White Part B consumers in the Marketplace insurance. Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the insurance industry; writing policies and procedures for insurance or healthcare institutions, performing oversight analysis/evaluation of insurance programs; or leading community based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications : Experience working with insurance selections and the processing of Medical claims.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working in the insurance industry, or experience working along side the insurance industry such as in a medical providers admin office. Working with Insurance Enrollments, Billing, and membership reconciliation is especially valuable. Experience working with federal grants and grant guidance (optional;) Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite, especially Word, Outlook, Excel, and WebEx; and experience with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Adobe Connect, and GoToMeeting. Ability to comprehend and follow complex and technical procedures and to communicate effectively.
