Principal Embedded Cybersecurity Engineer Responsibilities
Work independently as well as with a team to develop and apply advanced cybersecurity technologies for embedded systems for GE Aerospace products. Interact with hardware, software, and firmware developers as well as engineering tool providers to identify appropriate solutions for the most challenging applications. Lead medium- to large-sized projects or tasks. Document technology and results through patent applications, technical reports, and publications. Expand expertise by staying current with advances in embedded cybersecurity to seek out new ideas and applications. Collaborate in a team environment with colleagues across GE Aerospace and government agencies. Shape and lead proposal responses to GE Aerospace businesses and government agencies (e.g., DARPA, NASA, AFRL). Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines with a minimum of 15 years of industry experience OR a master’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience OR a Ph.D. with a minimum of 7 years of industry experience. Experience with embedded devices (e.g., Xilinx, NXP, MicroChip, etc.). Experience with hardware-based security (e.g., UEFI, TPM, ARM TrustZone, Secure Boot). Experience with software development for embedded systems such as computer architecture, Linux OS, and/or RTOS. Experience with Linux OS security. Embedded programming skills such as C/C++, Python, Go, Rust. Familiarity with CNSA 1.0/2.0 and NIST cryptographic algorithms and standards. Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance. Willingness to travel a minimum of 2 weeks per year. US citizenship required. Willingness to work onsite in Lynn, MA; Evendale, OH; or Niskayuna, NY. Ideal candidate characteristics include active US Government Security Clearance, experience with networking protocols and network security, experience with cryptographic libraries (e.g., OpenSSL and/or wolfSSL), embedded development in an RTOS environment, anti-tamper technologies, cross domain solutions, and a track record of taking ideas from concept to product. Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this position is 130,000 - 240,000 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education, and skill set. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on base salary. This posting is expected to close on September 10, 2025.
