UNSW’s Education Focused roles (EF) enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those appointed to this specialisation are expected to drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities. The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in exercise science / exercise physiology (clinical education) will be primarily responsible for experiential learning (clinical placements) throughout the exercise science and exercise physiology program. Key Skills and Qualifications
Level B A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience Accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist Knowledge and experience in clinical areas relevant to the practice of exercise science and exercise physiology and the ability to deliver appropriate client care Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development Knowledge and experience of exercise science and exercise physiology practicum/placement requirements Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and assessment at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g., curriculum design, especially with respect to clinical education and development at various levels) Knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable) Interpersonal and organisational skills, and ability to support students from diverse backgrounds and inclusion initiatives Level C Advanced clinical knowledge and the ability to deliver excellence in client-centred care Evidence of professional development of teaching practice and ability to advance inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement Pre-employment Checks
