Overview
Angel Fire Resort is seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Sales Director to drive Group and Conference sales to the next level of success. This position will plan and direct sales efforts of Angel Fire Resort's products and services by performing the following duties personally and/or through subordinate supervisors. Qualified applicants will have ample experience in developing sales plans, managing a sales team, coordinating contracts with suppliers, analyzing marketing strategy and at least ten years of highly successful sales director experience in the hospitality industry, ideally in resort/ski area. Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of the organization.
Hire, train, develop and manage a successful sales and fulfillment team and ensure shared vision of sales plans.
Represent the company effectively with accurate comprehensive knowledge of Resort Group and Conference offerings.
Build relationships and work with the marketing department, vendors and clients.
Develop and maintain sales activities reporting and communicate plans with management.
Be competent in interpersonal skills, project & quality management, planning/organizing, strategic thinking, innovation, professionalism and business acumen.
Base Pay:
Based on Experience. Commission Structure included.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Establishes strategic group and conference sales plans in cooperation with the marketing director and director of real estate and development to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
Develops and executes comprehensive sales plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of the organization.
Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
Develops and manages group, tour and travel sales operating budget.
Hires, trains, develops and manages a sales and fulfillment team.
Plans and oversees sales team activities including client contact, contracting, and other duties as assigned.
Evaluates, recommends and executes distribution channel development programs (OTAs, wholesalers, tour operators, etc.) in coordination with the marketing director, director of real estate and development and lodging director.
Determines agencies and suppliers of record, and negotiates contract terms and conditions for major service providers to the resort.
Serves as liaison with wholesale agencies on ongoing campaigns.
Develops and maintains sales activities reporting and provides to management.
Oversees sales automation system (Salesforce).
Oversees development and production of collateral materials for the sales effort at Angel Fire Resort.
Ensures effective control of sales results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of sales objectives falls within designated budgets.
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing and sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Oversees development and maintenance of customer database along with the marketing director.
Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners.
Resolves conflicts and facilitates changes in the structure of the sales team to ensure objective fulfillment and swift response to sales opportunities.
Conducts group surveys on current and new concepts, and provides feedback for future product development.
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, and ten years of leading a team and at least ten years of experience in a sales director position ideally in the lodging and ski area businesses; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 0-2 employees in the Group Sales Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment This position will vary from desk work to in-the-field work, which will be both indoor and outdoor.
