The Segment Controller will join the Corporate Finance team and lead the Toys, Games, Licensing, and Entertainment Segment Accounting team, assess technical accounting impacts, identify efficient accounting and business processes, and oversee continuous improvement. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this highly visible role supports accounting, finance, and business operations. Location and time onsite
Effective from the date Hasbro opens its new Boston location, this position will be onsite Tuesday – Thursday at Hasbro’s new HQ location in Boston, MA. Until then, the role will be onsite Tuesday – Thursday at Hasbro’s HQ in Pawtucket, RI or at Hasbro’s temporary location in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day accounting of certain revenue and other accounting activities globally across Hasbro.
Own and communicate the segment financial results including balance sheet analysis and supporting P&L analysis.
Serve as the accounting liaison for the Business/Commercial Finance and be the primary point of contact for segment business-related communications with the Technical Accounting team.
Drive continuous improvement and modernization efforts across the global accounting and finance organization to ensure complete and accurate segment financial results.
Provide support and analysis to executive management by investigating accounting questions, issues, and judgments and by partnering with cross‑divisional teams.
Act as a key liaison to external auditors to assist in an efficient audit process.
Oversee the timely completion of local statutory financial statements.
Build relationships and maintain regular communication with operational leaders to provide timely accounting and reporting guidance.
Complete ad hoc projects assigned by senior management, including analysis of business operations and proposed accounting treatments.
What you’ll bring (Qualifications)
10+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance roles of increasing responsibility.
Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience and/or public company experience; Big 4 experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet deadlines.
Experience in staff development and building high-performing teams.
Ability to earn trust and credibility within the organization and develop effective relationships with senior leadership.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make sound business decisions.
Compensation
Starting Pay Range: $149,600
Pay Range End: $224,400
