Have you ever had that green-light feeling? When you hit every green light and the day just feels like magic. CLEAR's mission is to create frictionless experiences where every day has that feeling. With more than 30+ million passionate members and hundreds of partners around the world, CLEAR’s identity platform is transforming the way people live, work, and travel.
CLEAR is seeking a strategic, data-driven Senior Director, Member Growth to establish and drive a high-impact Member Growth function. You will own the end-to-end performance strategy across the Member lifecycle—from acquisition and activation through long-term retention. This role combines analytical rigor, strategic vision, and operational execution to unlock growth and deliver measurable impact across CLEAR’s Membership base.
In this role, you will operate at 10,000 feet as well as 100 feet - working with our Member Insights team to develop a strategy for performance improvement and then driving strategy into an action plan all the way through to execution. You are someone who both likes to think about big, interesting problems and how we can solve them strategically and to have hands-on, tangible impact on business results.
What you'll do:
Segment and assess key member cohorts using quantitative and qualitative insights; shape tailored strategies to improve conversion and retention across these segments
Serve as the strategic architect for CLEAR’s Member lifecycle, identifying performance opportunities and defining the roadmap to improve acquisition, conversion, engagement, and retention
Develop a hypothesis-driven testing agenda to pilot new growth and retention strategies, balancing speed and rigor
Lead cross-functional execution of strategic initiatives from design through implementation, ensuring accountability, agility, and scalability
Partner with our Member Insights team to dive into the data on the behavior of CLEAR’s Members, helping us understand how to improve performance with a data-driven approach
Architect reporting across Member segments to help leadership understand performance
Own investigating and diagnosing issues in day-to-day Member segment performance
Own Member Retention performance and strategic roadmap while building a team to support the performance of other key member cohorts
How you'll measure success:
A clear, actionable, and data-informed strategic plan for Member growth and retention
Tangible wins delivered through high-impact pilots and scaled initiatives
Elevated understanding of Member performance across the organization
Deep cross-functional trust and influence as a strategic thought partner
What you're great at:
10+ years of experience in Strategy, Growth, or Business Operations, ideally within consumer tech, travel, financial services, or subscription businesses
Prior experience in Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, or a Strategy & Ops function is highly preferred
Deep analytical fluency; able to structure complex problems, analyze data, and drive insight-based decision-making
Proven track record of turning strategy into execution with measurable business impact
Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete data, and iterating as needed
A collaborative, low-ego team leader who thrives in a mission-driven environment
At CLEAR, we help YOU move forward - because when you’re at your best, we’re at our best. We offer holistic total rewards, including comprehensive healthcare plans, family-building benefits, flexible time off, annual wellness stipend, free OneMedical memberships for you and your dependents, a CLEAR Plus membership, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match. The base salary range for this role is $200,000-$250,000, depending on levels of skills and experience.
