Overview
Executive Director - CNIO role at Piedmont. A senior nurse executive who works with the Chief Health Informatics Officer (CHIO) and senior nursing, clinical, medical, quality/regulatory, and operational leadership to develop and implement informatics strategy to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and experience of nursing and clinician practice in support of Piedmont Healthcares mission and vision. The ED-CNIO is expected to develop and implement nursing informatics strategy for the health system, potentially leading efforts to implement virtual nursing solutions, reduce duplication and documentation burden, enhance adoption of workflow efficiency tools, define standard EHR work for nursing, and assist in streamlining optimization. Reporting to the CHIO, the ED-CNIO serves as the key advisor related to nursing practice, nursing informatics, and ancillary clinical areas. The role includes indirect reporting to the system Chief Nurse Executive and participation in the nursing leadership council. The primary responsibility is to serve as the strategic liaison between Information Services (IS), nursing, and ancillary departments to identify, develop, and implement informatics strategies to support quality across the continuum of care. This role provides the strategic direction for nursing informatics across the health system to advance nursing practice, clinician experience using Epic, and patient experience. In collaboration with the system Informatics leadership team and Chief Nurse Officers (CNOs), you will develop clinical systems strategies that optimize the use of the EHR and related technologies for nurses, physicians, and other multidisciplinary care providers. The ED-CNIO will work closely with application teams, service line leaders, training and information services leadership; the ED-CNIO and CMIO(s) function as dyad partners and lead through influence across the health system and care settings.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: MSN or Masters in Informatics or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience Required: Ten (10) years progressively responsible in both clinical and informatics experience.
Three (3) years leadership experience; senior leadership responsibility for improving nursing practice through informatics.
Expert level knowledge of Epic nursing workflows.
Desired Experience: DNP or PhD in Nursing/Informatics, preferred. AHIC certification is a plus. Strong knowledge of health care industry trends in informatics, technology, nursing practice, and clinical operations. Experience in a complex, matrixed organization.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law: Current and active RN license.
Additional Qualifications: ANCC Nursing Informatics, CPHIMS optional
