Overview
Uplift Education: Primary School Academic Director Pool (25-26 SY). The Primary School Academic Director is the leader of the school and, in conjunction with the Operations Director, is responsible for all aspects of running the school. The position sets the instructional and academic vision for the school, aligned with Uplift's IB vision for excellence. The Director establishes and maintains a supportive, respectful learning environment and guides the school leadership team to develop campus talent to achieve strong academic and cultural outcomes. The Director partners and collaborates with the campus leadership team and other network leaders to advance Uplift's mission for the communities it serves. Mission Statement:

Responsibilities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Campus Leadership Develop and execute a strategic vision for the school that aligns with network priorities. Establish and maintain a shared vision of success for staff and scholars. Set clear goals for the school and create targets and strategies to improve scholar outcomes through teacher and staff effectiveness. Foster a culture of continuous improvement. Serve as a visible campus leader in the community, with families, community partners, and board members. Instructional Leadership (Coaching, Planning & Management) Establish and implement systems to regularly assess school-wide instructional practice. Coach and develop Deans, teacher leaders, and teachers as applicable. Observe staff regularly and provide targeted feedback. Monitor progress of teams through debriefs, observations, and data reviews at frequent checkpoints. Deliver and manage professional development aligned to campus priorities. Facilitate data meetings and action planning with leadership and other key teams. Analyze and synthesize school, teacher, and scholar data to plan course corrections. People Management & Development Establish norms for people managers around development. Recruit, hire, mentor, and retain high-quality staff. Define performance expectations across roles to meet school goals. Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff. Partner on professional development planning for direct reports. Observe performance, conduct evaluations, and drive continuous improvement. Manage disciplinary decisions as needed. Scholar Culture & Family Partnership Lead staff, scholars, and families to establish a positive, IB-aligned culture compliant with laws and policy. Publish and enforce the student handbook and Code of Conduct with restorative practices. Support meetings with parents, scholars, and teachers; facilitate high-priority meetings regarding violations and potential expulsion. Develop systems to ensure strong plans for scholar services and management. Foster strong relationships with families to encourage community involvement. Professional Growth & Learning Model professional conduct and integrity. Engage in leadership development and continuous learning. Attend network leadership meetings, academies, and conferences. Apply professional development learnings and share outcomes with network leaders. Administrative Functions Collaborate with school and K-12 campus leadership to ensure strong program implementation. Manage resources effectively to support goals. Ensure funds are used in compliance with guidelines to achieve goals. Establish structures for scholar and teacher management and retention. Coordinate planning of daily school activities with the leadership team.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and/or Certification Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Master’s degree desirable but not required. Minimum of 5 years of education experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role (Dean or Assistant Principal). Minimum of 2 years of instructional experience at the primary level. Special Skills/Certifications: NA Required Skills/Abilities Excellent communication with all levels of personnel, students, and parents. Technology proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Other Skills/Abilities Commitment to Uplift Education’s mission and values. Strong knowledge of public education principles and best practices. Strong written and oral communication; ability to present to leadership, publics, and boards. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and management capabilities; ability to motivate and inspire stakeholders. Strategic planning, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to address complex problems with creative solutions; culturally competent with diverse stakeholders. Ability to understand federal and state laws affecting scholars and families. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Starting Salary:
$97,500
