The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 24 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. H&S is home to fundamental and applied research, where free, open, and critical inquiry is pursued across disciplines. The Stanford VMware Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab generates foundational research to advance women's leadership by diagnosing barriers, developing and evaluating interventions to get beyond barriers, and disseminates research-based solutions. Position Summary : The Stanford VMware Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab is seeking a Director of Research and Education. The Director of Research and Education will work under general supervision of the Faculty Director and in close collaboration with the Director of Finance and Administration. This position requires a visionary leader who can lead cutting-edge research initiatives, establish training programs for students and postdoctoral researchers, and create pathways for knowledge transfer to the broader scientific community and public. The role also leads the design of curricula, mentorship frameworks, and professional development programs that prepare students and postdoctoral researchers for diverse careers in academia, research, and industry. CORE DUTIES : Lead and oversee development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of programs. Oversee analysis, reporting, and program improvements. Represent the entity or program to the broader university, external community, and other stakeholders. Develop outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships and fundraising/funding. Teach or co-teach courses; oversee the administration of courses; create and/or advise in the development of curriculum; and/or advise students, coach and mentor clients and program staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Advanced degree and five years of relevant experience in area of specialization or combination of relevant education, training, and/or experience. Experience managing a budget and developing financial plans. Experience developing program partnerships and funding sources. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES : Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources. Advanced oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
