We are pleased that you are interested in career opportunities offered at MICA.**Job Title:** Admission Counselor**Department:** Undergraduate Admission**Division:** Admission & Financial Aid**FLSA Status:** Exempt**Union:** Union**Grade:** 5**Salary Range:** $41,500 - $51,800**General purpose:**Functions as part of a team responsible for the promotion of the college and recruitment of qualified candidates in order to meet enrollment goals**Summary of Essential Functions:*** Recruitment of qualified students to meet enrollment goals**Duties & Responsibilities:*** Evaluate first year application materials, including portfolios of artwork as a member of the Admission Committee* Responsibilities include a full schedule of recruitment at high schools, regional receptions and portfolio days in assigned regions of the country* Make promotional presentations to groups of students, parents, art teachers, and college counselors* Assist with on campus and virtual recruitment events* Conduct interviews and group information sessions* Maintain contact with candidates, their art teachers, parents and guidance counselors* Counsel students and parents about admission, financial aid and scholarship opportunities* Assist in the planning and analysis of recruitment activities* Additional area(s) of responsibility could include special event planning, transfer student recruitment and/or social media initiatives* Perform other related duties as assigned**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*** Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with keen attention to detail* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Excellent public speaking skills* Ability to relate to people from a variety of backgrounds**Minimum qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree with coursework in visual arts* Previous experience in admission or in a student, customer service, academic, non-profit, or other related setting.* Must Submit Cover Letter and Resume**Preferred qualifications:*** Master Fine Art* Teaching, sales, marketing, and/or college admission experience**Conditions of Employment:*** Successful candidate must complete a full background check* Unusual Circumstances related to position: requires travel, evening and/or weekend work, black-out periods**Reporting to this position:**no direct reports**Physical demands and work environment:**The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
