Senior Manager of Information and Awareness
Global Support and Development is seeking to hire a Senior Manager of Information and Awareness within our Programs section. The position is full-time and located at HQ in Charlotte, N.C. Reporting to our Director of Portfolios, the Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the long-term strategies within its portfolio (currently information management and maritime access). The Senior Manager will help ensure that all information management products and services within and across all portfolios (as indicated by the IM program strategy) are contributing to systems change within our area of operation while also supporting GSD to strategically enhance its internal capacity and support evidence-based decision-making for rapid response, disaster preparedness, and internal enablers. Support critical decision-making processes, to include identifying issues and driving problem-solving, especially in resource-constrained and time-sensitive contexts; Support the professional development and growth of direct reports and the departmental team as a whole; Leads budgetary planning, financial control and monthly analysis for the Information Management Team; Develop, execute, and refine programmatic strategic plans based on organizational strategic direction, emerging priorities, and learning; Lead operational risk management in all programmatic design and delivery, to include risk identification and mitigation planning, with an emphasis on data privacy and protection; Through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, co-design impactful projects designed to help partners achieve their short-term and long-term objectives, aligned with programmatic strategic plans; Ensure the I&A portfolio is applying a comprehensive measurement framework at project, program, and portfolio levels with regular reporting on outputs and outcomes, and contributing to evaluation design and execution on impact; Ensure technical excellence of programs and services executed under the portfolio and those contributing to other programs across the portfolio; Through collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensure the timely execution and adaptation of portfolio strategies to ensure organizational strategic milestones are met; Support relationship management with external partners and collaborators necessary for the successful execution of the IM program strategy; Prompt and action GSD’s core values of accountability, humility, and integrity in all work we conduct; Promote good stewardship of financial and other resources to achieve maximum benefit to those impacted by disaster or at risk of impact; and Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required Experience: Eight (8) or more years of relevant management experience in information management, data analysis, data science, or a related field, preferably in the humanitarian sector; Five (5) or more years experience operating in data management, knowledge management or data science, preferably in an international context, particularly in humanitarian or development operations; and Proven experience developing programs and teams. Required Education: Master’s Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science or related field; or Equivalent education and experience. Professional Licenses/Certifications: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or similar desired; and Certification in project management desired. Knowledge/Skills: Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate teams to produce quality results within challenging timeframes and ongoing change; Program oversight and management, development of programmatic policy, procedure, and guidelines; Strategic enabler with ability to drive key initiatives and influence cross collaboration; Experience in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans; Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously under pressure; Confident and effective written and verbal communication, to include presentation ability; Cultural awareness and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of stakeholders to build relationships; Advanced knowledge and expertise in information management principles and practices, including data governance, data lifecycle management, data security, and data privacy; Strong technical skills in data analysis, data visualization, and data science methodologies, with proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., GIS, data analysis software, data visualization platforms); Strong organizational skills and the ability to rapidly shift tasks; Experience working and/or traveling domestically and internationally; and Working knowledge of Spanish and/or French desired.
