An Accounting Manager oversees a company's financial operations by managing accounting staff, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, budgeting, forecasting, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making within the organization; essentially acting as the leader of the accounting team, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring proper financial reporting. Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to identify trends and areas for improvement. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecast future financial performance, and monitor variances against budget. Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to GAAP and relevant regulatory standards, including tax laws. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, assigning tasks, reviewing work, and providing professional development opportunities. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Audit Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes and address any audit findings. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify KPIs, assess profitability, and provide insights to management for strategic decision-making. Accounting Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, manage cash receipts and disbursements, and forecast future cash needs. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information clearly to senior management, department heads, and other stakeholders. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools Leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team Attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and presentation skills Seniority level
