Overview
As a member of a progressive and collaborative Global Mobility team, located onsite in either in Foster City or Raleigh, you are primarily responsible for leading immigration strategies and operations across the Americas region. In addition, your remit extends globally to support Europe, Asia, and other international markets in partnership with international team members. Responsibilities
Advise and consult on the design and implementation of immigration policies, practices and processes aligned with Gilead’s talent strategy. Ensure company compliance with U.S. immigration laws and regulations across all authorities. Serve as the primary advisor on complex immigration matters, offering guidance to HR, Legal, and People Leaders. Escalation point / advisor to HR Shared Services for immigration Manage end-to-end visa sponsorship, renewals, and work authorization processes for the Americas. Advise on immigration strategies to support recruitment, mobility, and retention of foreign national employees. Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on workforce planning and compliance. Manage operational responsibilities aligned to immigration vendor, ensuring services are delivered in a high quality, consistent and timely way. Partner closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., HR Shared Services, Global Rewards, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners etc.) to deliver the best mobility experience. Educate and train HR and People Leaders on immigration policies, timelines, and best practices. Identify and mitigate risks in immigration processes and documentation. Continuously improve workflows and systems to enhance efficiency and compliance. Proactively adjust policies in response to regulatory updates and business needs. Support implementation of mobility and HR Shared Services initiatives including onboarding new vendors, services, policies, and processes. Basic Qualifications
High School Degree and Twelve Year's Experience OR Associates Degree And Ten Years Experience OR Bachelor's Degree And Eight Years’ Experience OR Masters' Degree And Six Years’ Experience OR Ph.D. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Law, or related field. 8+ years of experience managing U.S. immigration programs with proven Knowledge of assignee end-to-end life cycle management. Multinational or highly regulated industry experience highly regarded. In-depth knowledge of employment-based visa categories, work authorization, and global mobility practices. Ability to advise and inform external immigration vendors and legal counsel. Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills. Impactful communication, problem-solving, and project management capability. Ability to adapt and manage unexpected events. Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to prioritize activities. Prepared to work onsite for a required minimum of 3 days per week (subject to change). Salary Range
