Truck Driver/Manufacturing Technician at FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A., Inc. – Castroville, CA

This role combines safe transportation of hazardous materials with manufacturing support. When not driving, you will support production schedules as a trained Manufacturing Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and promptly transport hazardous materials to and from the site.
  • Drive, load, and unload trailers (with or without mechanical equipment). Able to lift or move up to 65 lbs as needed.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation (bills of lading, shipping orders, freight bills) is available for inspection and accompanies shipments at delivery.
  • Operate in accordance with company policies and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Support Environmental, Safety & Health and Quality programs and requirements.
  • Coordinate local inbound/outbound routes to maximize freight efficiency.
  • Batch process and liquid production of solvents; load/unload bulk chemical solvents and blends into tanker trucks, holding vessels, railcars, and drums; monitor loading/unloading of tank trucks and railcars.
  • Handle and maintain equipment such as pneumatic pumps, hoses, and filter housings; operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Prepare production processes by studying work orders and setting controls; produce solvents and solvent blends by initiating and monitoring material processing.
  • Maintain quality standards by collecting samples, performing QA tests, and adjusting process controls.
  • Maintain processing systems by investigating warnings and malfunctions and coordinating required maintenance.
  • Clean up after processing and look for ways to improve processing systems.
  • Follow safety, health, and environmental standards; comply with legal regulations.
  • Make decisions to meet production targets and keep operations on track.
  • Safety-focused; knowledge of 5S and Lean initiatives is helpful.
  • Follow all procedures, work instructions, batch/work orders, and finished goods analysis sheets.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • California Class B Commercial License with HazMat endorsements or ability to obtain one.
  • Two to three years of manufacturing operations experience.
  • Ability to work with others in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 60 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Must pass physical and drug screening as required by corporate and DOT guidelines.
  • Must meet CFR 49 requirements (read/speak English, understand highway signs, respond to authorities, complete documentation).
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring post-offer drug screening and valid DOT Medical Certification Card, or the ability to obtain one before start date.

Pay and Benefits

PAY RANGE: The pay range for this role is estimated at $21.00/hr – $23.00/hr, with actual wage based on qualifications and experience.
