Reporting to the Associate VP DevOps, the Director of Digital Engagement (CRM /Salesforce) architects and leads the digital transformation of the University’s engagement ecosystem. They create experiences that impact students’ academic journeys, leveraging Salesforce and CRM technologies. This role designs and implements strategies that transform data into meaningful connections and guides the creation of personalized, intuitive digital experiences that support students from first inquiry through graduation and beyond. It will involve innovative solutions to break down silos, automate complex processes, and unlock insights that drive change in educational outcomes. Essential Functions

Leads the design and implementation of enterprise-grade CRM solutions using Salesforce (Sales/Service/Experience/Marketing Cloud etc.). Architects data models, integration layers, and user experience flows to enable seamless student, alumni, parent, staff, and faculty journeys; assists in configuring and customizing technology solutions to meet program needs. Serves as primary contact for all CRM / Salesforce-related large-scale transformation initiatives, overseeing multiple workstreams from initial discussions to deployment and support. Establishes architectural governance for CRM programs, ensuring security and alignment with enterprise standards; mentors solution architects and technical leads. Shapes CRM transformation strategies, including modernization of legacy platforms, migration, and mobile-first CRM adoption; promotes intelligent CRM features such as predictive scoring and action routing. Creates efficient architectural documentation to accelerate development while maintaining deployment safeguards. Evaluates CRM tools, accelerators, and AI/ML capabilities to drive automation and personalization; leads POCs, tool comparisons, and roadmap development. Essential Functions Note

Supervises the work of other Fordham employees who are individual contributors; responsible for hiring, training and development, performance management and corrective action; has significant input in compensation decisions. Additional Functions

Conducts research to understand emerging trends in educational technology and CRM usage in higher education; identifies opportunities to enhance engagement across all university segments. Collaborates with client services, data, security, applications, and infrastructure teams for alignment and scalability. Manages relationships with technology vendors to ensure products align with educational goals and stay updated with Salesforce features. Oversees the budget for CRM and technology initiatives; ensures investments align with priorities and outcomes. Gathers feedback from customers and internal teams to refine the Salesforce environment; monitors and analyzes processes to identify improvements and best practices. Ensures CRM strategies comply with regulations and policies, maintaining data integrity and security. Qualifications

Required Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field; minimum of 5 years of technology architecture experience with Salesforce Architecture, including Sales, Service, CRMA, and Marketing Clouds. Required Knowledge and Skills : Proven leadership in cross-functional teams within academic or technology-focused organizations; strong communication skills; deep knowledge of CRM configuration, data models, metadata design, automation, and custom development; hands-on experience leading enterprise CRM architecture in multi-cloud/hybrid/SaaS-first environments; experience integrating Salesforce via APIs, Web Services, and ETL (Talend, MuleSoft); ability to manage complex issues and derive insights; demonstrated creativity and critical thinking. Preferred Qualifications : Master’s degree in IT, Business Admin, Educational Technology, or related field; experience in higher education; ability to customize Salesforce for student and faculty engagement; Salesforce Mobile Publisher experience; change management experience; familiarity with data analysis tools in CRM context. Compensation

Minimum Starting Salary: $144,000 Maximum Starting Salary: $180,000 Salary note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills. Other Details
