Overview

The Director, Finance PMO leads strategic planning, governance, execution, and delivery of finance-related programs and projects across the Finance department. This role aligns project portfolios with Finance strategy, ensures delivery excellence, and builds a high-performing Finance PMO that drives operational efficiency and innovation. The Director serves as a subject matter expert in program and project management while managing a high-performing Finance PMO team. Key Responsibilities

Program & Project Governance: Lead the governance and delivery of complex finance programs and projects using standardized project management methodologies to ensure consistency and transparency. Approve and oversee project plans, ensuring compliance with Finance PMO frameworks and corporate governance standards. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve project and program management tools, templates, and standards to support consistent execution and reporting. Strategic Leadership, Planning & Execution: Develop and implement the Finance PMO strategy in alignment with Raymond James’ mission, vision, and the Finance function’s objectives. Translate strategic goals into actionable plans with measurable business outcomes. Anticipate and address complex business challenges within the Finance function. Oversee budgeting, resource planning, and performance tracking for the Finance PMO portfolio. Drive cross-functional integration and ensure business cases are well-defined and outcomes are measurable. Project & Program Planning and Financial Oversight: Lead the development of business cases for key finance projects with cross-functional integration. Manage PMO budgets to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and fiscal discipline. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Build and manage relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders across Finance, IT, and other functions. Lead stakeholder engagement planning and execution to support effective communication. Champion the Finance PMO’s role in supporting the organization’s mission and values. Serve as a trusted advisor on finance project governance and strategic execution. Operational Excellence: Define and maintain clear roles and responsibilities within the Finance PMO. Ensure adherence to governance policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management protocols. Drive operational efficiency through structured workflows and performance tracking. Talent Development: Identify capability gaps and lead initiatives to build project management capabilities across the Finance PMO. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and analysts. Promote a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence. Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and governance standards. Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, implementing mitigation strategies to safeguard delivery and business continuity. Performance & Change Management: Monitor and report on PMO performance against KPIs and strategic objectives. Lead change management efforts for new systems, processes, and operating models. Drive continuous improvement using data-driven insights and industry best practices. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or PMP preferred. 10+ years of experience in finance, project/program management, or PMO leadership. Proven success in leading enterprise-wide finance transformation initiatives. Deep understanding of financial systems, governance, and compliance frameworks. Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with Agile, Lean, or other project delivery methodologies is a plus. Skills

Strong project management skills, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and timeline management. Proven leadership abilities with a focus on developing teams and promoting professional growth. Education

Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business Administration. MBA preferred for some roles. Work Experience

General experience: 10 to 15 years in finance and PMO leadership. Certifications

PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent. Travel
