Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Certified Scrum Master (CSM) to join our onsite team in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading Agile teams, driving continuous improvement, and delivering complex projects within secure, mission-driven environments. This role requires a deep understanding of Agile principles, servant leadership, and cross-functional team guidance to ensure successful delivery. This position requires onsite presence at USCG St. Elizabeths three days per week. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Agile values, principles, and best practices. Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Remove impediments and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Coach team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile practices to maximize value delivery. Track, analyze, and report on team performance metrics to drive process improvements. Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to align organizational practices and scaling strategies. Ensure deliverables meet quality, security, and compliance standards within a government contracting environment. Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 8–10 years of experience in project management or Agile delivery, with at least 5 years as a Scrum Master. Active Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent certification. Proven experience working in fast-paced environments. Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and servant leadership skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Preferred Requirements
Experience supporting federal government or defense-related projects. Knowledge of scaling frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD).
