Overview
Locum Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician job in Christiansburg, VA – pay $1500/day to $1700/day. Start Date: 12-22-25. Length: 24 weeks. Schedule: 24 Hour On Call; Standard 3, 12-Hour shifts 07:00 - 07:00. Facility type: Out-Patient Clinic.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive healthcare for women across all stages of life.
Conduct gynecological exams, ultrasounds and other diagnostic procedures.
Perform surgical procedures, such as hysterectomies, cesarean sections and minimally invasive surgeries (depending on scope of practice).
Diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions.
Provide counseling on reproductive health, contraception and family planning.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as pediatricians and neonatologists, for optimal patient care.
Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.
Stay current on the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education.
Qualifications & Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
A CGME or AOA accredited OB/GYN residency program completion.
Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by ABOG or AOA.
Active and unrestricted medical license in Virginia.
Typically at least one year of obstetric and gynecological care experience in a clinical or hospital setting (varies by assignment).
Skills
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical proficiency in gynecological exams, ultrasounds and surgical procedures.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for surgical procedures.
Attention to detail and ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions.
Time management and organizational skills; empathetic patient care.
