Under broad supervision, the Tax Analyst is responsible for moderately complex projects related to the application of tax laws and the preparation of federal, state, or local tax returns. Maintains complete and accurate tax records, prepares reports, and provides recommendations. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience. Responsibilities

Assists in the analysis and payment of federal and state taxes for all UTLX & LLC companies. Prepares monthly federal/state deferred tax provision calculation and journal entries. Prepares quarterly state income/franchise tax estimate/extension payment calculation and remittance. Assists with budget and forecast planning including analysis for all UTLX & LLC companies. Assists with quarterly and year-end federal provision packages for all UTLX and LLC companies. Actively involved in tax audits for all UTLX companies. Prepares for audits by organizing and reviewing documents and assisting external auditors. Provides timely resolution on complex technical tax issues. Guides and informs employees as to how they may decrease the companies’ tax obligations. Partners with accounting staff at all companies to gather and input the federal, state and accounting data that drive the tax compliance and accounting cycle up through OneSource Tax Provision and Hyperion Workspace to the Marmon/Berkshire level. Ensures that control and analysis of accounts follow GAAP and internal controls mandated by Berkshire Hathaway and Marmon. Streamlines procedures and offers recommendations on how processes can run more efficiently. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, high accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Solid understanding of accounting principles, techniques and procedures including U.S. GAAP and ASC740 tax provisions. Advanced Excel skills and ability to travel approximately two weeks per year. Education/Experience/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business required. Minimum of 1 – 2 years of relevant work experience in corporate tax and/or public accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is beneficial. Note: Duties may change at any time with or without notice. Pay and Benefits

Pay Range:

$63,000.00 - $77,000.00 We offer a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, and more. Following conditional offer, additional job-related screening processes may be required as permitted or required by applicable law. Additional Details
