Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine This is an in-person job opportunity located on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) offers a program of training on St. Kitts with a cutting-edge curriculum, innovative technologies and simulations. Students benefit from seven semesters of integrated preclinical and clinical studies at our St Kitts campus, and one year of clinical training at affiliate teaching hospitals in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. Our ongoing research focuses on One Health issues in tropical and developing countries, including zoonotic diseases, food safety and security, environmental health, and conservation medicine. We are seeking a key new member to join us as we develop programs to prepare our graduates for global opportunities and challenges in veterinary medicine in the 21st century. Job Description We are seeking a dedicated veterinarian to join the Ross University Veterinary Clinic (RUVC). The Veterinarian will play an integral role in small animal primary care and emergency services at RUVC, while contributing to student education and professional development. This position combines clinical practice with teaching responsibilities in a collaborative academic environment. Primary Responsibilities

Clinical Care (60%)

Provide comprehensive small animal primary care, including medicine and surgery. Deliver emergency services as required by RUVC operations. Demonstrate flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to ensure emergency coverage.

Teaching & Student Supervision (35%)

Participate in Introduction to Clinics and Essential Veterinary Skills (EVS) courses. Supervise seventh-semester students during clinical rotations at RUVC. Support students from other semesters in EVS laboratories. Provide mentorship to ensure students acquire knowledge and skills essential for a successful transition into their clinical year.

Professional Development & Service (5%)

Engage in continued education and professional growth activities. Participate actively in clinic and faculty meetings. Contribute to assigned committees and collaborate on research projects. Meet with individual students to provide guidance and support as needed.

Other Duties

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the mission and smooth functioning of RUVC.

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or international equivalent (required). American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) certification (preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in small animal general practice, including independent provision of emergency care. Demonstrated interest in surgery and/or dentistry (preferred). Willingness to relocate and live full time in St. Kitts (relocation offered). Strong desire to teach and engage with veterinary students (essential). Previous teaching or mentorship experience (preferred). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collegial, team-based environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (preferred). Additional Information
