Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer or Staff Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the DARC program. This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO (preferred), but can also be located in Baltimore, MD, Bellevue, NE, or Azusa, CA. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position. The Payload and Ground Systems division within Space Systems is known for pushing the boundaries of innovation and driving advances in radar, sensing, and related technologies. Our team develops, designs, produces, and sustains optimized product lines to provide a decisive advantage to the warfighter. Responsibilities
Support development and integration of radar algorithms to meet system mission and mode performance objectives Requirements development, analysis, and implementation planning for translating system requirements into algorithm design Perform functional and performance analyses Develop mathematical algorithms for mode/sensor implementation Develop software integration planning for system algorithms to model real-time behavior on radar platforms Solicit input from stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to leadership Conduct mission engineering activities to ensure operational capabilities align with delivered system performance, evaluating trade-offs among cost, requirements, and effectiveness Guide the team through development/implementation activities Basic Qualifications
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s in STEM and 8 years of related experience; or Master’s in STEM and 6 years; or Ph.D. and 4 years Staff Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s in STEM and 12 years of related experience; or Master’s in STEM and 10 years; or Ph.D. and 8 years Active Top Secret clearance at time of application with SCI eligibility Expertise with MATLAB and code prototyping Experience with Systems Engineering lifecycle and radar systems Experience with radar performance analysis and data analysis Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence) Experience with SharePoint and MS Office Strong problem-solving skills and ability to plan and execute Experience working in cross-functional teams with a customer focus Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Python, C/C++, Java or related languages Experience with Agile methodology (Kanban, Scrum) Experience with requirements derivation and decomposition for system design Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $155,400.00 - $233,200.00 The above salary range is a guideline; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Long-term incentives may be available for VP/Director levels. Northrop Grumman offers health, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
