Overview
Director, Global Purchasing role at O.C. Tanner. This position leads a team of approximately 40 people and drives global procurement strategy for our organization, including supplier relationships and cost-effective sourcing of products for the global awards catalog. Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing:
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives to ensure the right inventory across global markets. Focus on desirable brands, quality, and best price for the award catalog. Identify global market trends, reduce risk, achieve cost savings, and optimize purchasing processes. Supplier and Vendor Management:
Assist buyers in selecting global suppliers, build and maintain strong supplier relationships to leverage buying power and favorable terms, and monitor supplier performance for contractual compliance, delivery, and quality. Budget Oversight:
Oversee the purchasing department budget to ensure cost efficiency and effective resource allocation. Inventory:
Manage end-to-end procurement, from material creation to purchase order, delivery, and receipt. Monitor inventory levels to optimize turnover and on-time delivery. Supervise cycle counting and foster continuous improvement with planning and forecasting tools. Leadership and Team Development:
Coach and mentor cross-functionally and globally, fostering a high-performance, data-driven culture. Set and track department KPIs to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement. Compliance and Regulation:
Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and applicable legal/regulatory requirements. Company Culture:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPSM certification is preferred. Experience:
7–10+ years of global procurement or supply chain management experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or senior role. Leadership:
Demonstrated leadership and management capability with the ability to provide strategic direction and inspire a team. Negotiation:
Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable contract terms and cost savings. Technical Skills:
Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau). Soft Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to build effective relationships with global stakeholders. Industry Knowledge:
Knowledge of global markets dynamics, supply chain best practices, and current industry trends. Benefits:
