Overview
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is hiring an MRI Technologist. The role involves operating MRI equipment to obtain the diagnostic images ordered by a physician, preparing and positioning patients, recording the requested images, and sending results to physicians for evaluation. The work is performed under strict safety, regulatory, and departmental standards and protocols.
Responsibilities
Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment safely and accurately to capture images ordered by a physician.
Prepare and position patients correctly and effectively for MRI examinations.
Record and verify diagnostic images and relay results to physicians for evaluation and diagnosis.
Maintain aseptic technique and quality control for imaging equipment.
Participate in continuing education, seminars, meetings, and in-services to maintain knowledge of physics, anatomy, techniques, and medical terminology.
Qualifications Education/Work Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology.
Job Knowledge/Abilities: Knowledge of MRI examination concepts, standards, procedures, equipment; regulatory requirements related to MRI safety; basic patient care during MRI examinations; ability to document work activities completely and timely; proficiency with automated systems and MRI equipment; commitment to ongoing education; English communication; ability to establish effective working relationships.
Licensure/Certification: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required. State of Washington Certification as a Radiological Technologist required unless ARRT(MR) is obtained through the ARRT Primary Pathway. Current healthcare provider BLS certification.
In Addition To The Above Requirements: Franciscan Health – Advanced MR registry preferred. Virginia Mason – Advanced MR Registry required within 1 year of hire.
Pay Pay Range: $55.49 - $76.35 /hour
