We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead teams providing consulting on complex accounting transactions for our clients. This role involves applying your expertise to assist engagement teams in navigating technical matters and enhancing business processes, supported by our resources and environment. Building strong relationships with clients and team members is key, as is engaging stakeholders to deliver substantiated advice. From day one, you'll have access to firm leadership, training programs, and growth opportunities to advance your career with confidence. Your responsibilities include:
Overseeing multiple engagement teams on divestiture solutions, including evaluating carve-out readiness, supporting operational transitions, and assisting in business separation for financial sponsors and corporate clients. Supporting SEC regulatory filings and preparing carve-out financials. Identifying market trends to proactively solve problems and advise clients and colleagues. Assisting audit teams with accounting policies related to significant or complex matters. Training, supervising, and providing feedback to less experienced colleagues. Working on-site with clients or remotely, with flexibility in work arrangements supported by our policies. Representing Grant Thornton at recruiting and networking events. Enhancing your technical and professional skills through formal training. Achieving business development metrics, including revenue and cross-selling targets. Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications and skills required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, mathematics, or related fields; a master’s degree is a plus. At least twelve years of experience in financial statement audits, accounting advisory, or transaction advisory services, particularly in asset management. Active CPA license. Proficiency in US GAAP, SEC reporting, and related accounting standards; experience with ASC 606, ASC 842, financial instruments, IPO processes, or complex debt and equity transactions. Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities effectively. Experience in selling new work and driving revenue. Strong teamwork, relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills. Willingness to travel up to 80% on short notice. The salary range varies by location, with specific figures provided for New York, NY; San Francisco and San Jose; and Los Angeles offices.
