Job Description
As a Valuation & Modeling – Real Estate – Managing Director, you’ll assist clients by leading teams that apply traditional and cutting-edge valuation approaches and methods to a variety of analyses – all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. From day one, you’ll be empowered by the greater CFO Advisory team to help clients make the moves that will help them achieve their vision and help you achieve more, confidently. Your day-to-day may include:- Supervising and overseeing the real estate component of Valuation engagements throughout the transaction process and coordinating with other service lines to ensure complete client deliverables.
- Serving as the day-to-day point person on real estate engagements, leading meetings and calls with clients and target management.
- Planning, executing, directing, and completing real estate valuations for financial and corporate strategic buyers from a variety of industries, including manufacturing, energy, retail, hospitality, gaming, construction, non-profit, high-tech, and real estate.
- Understanding and managing firm risk on projects and proposals.
- Overseeing the assembly, maintenance, and finalization of working papers that support real estate valuations.
- Managing client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and leading change efforts effectively.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and cross-selling services.
- Managing business development activities, such as proposals, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership material.
- Working closely with Grant Thornton colleagues to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues.
- Communicating (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives, portraying knowledge and confidence.
- Leading and supporting business development activities, such as identification, proposal development, and other pursuit activities at clients.
- Meeting or exceeding sales targets for new and follow-on work.
- Meeting or exceeding targeted billing hours (utilization).
- Managing, developing, training, coaching, and mentoring staff on projects, assessing performance for engagement and year-end reviews.

Consistent with the firm’s hybrid work model, this position will require in-person attendance at least two days per week, either at a GT office or client site.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline required
- Minimum 13 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross industry clients at a national level with experience in business valuation required
- MAI or related Certified General Appraisal State Licenses required
- Experience in Accounting, Audit or Transaction Advisory Services
- Current knowledge in US GAAP, GAAS, SEC Reporting, transaction advisory services or mergers and acquisitions
- Purchase price allocation valuation experience
- Technical background including fair value experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice
- Demonstrated leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring experience
- Ability to travel as needed.
