role at

Odyssey Therapeutics Odyssey Therapeutics is propelling drug development beyond what is now possible to deliver medicines that address the critical needs of patients with inflammatory diseases. We achieve unprecedented speed and efficiency by bringing together a target-centric approach, a toolbox of cutting-edge technologies, and a team of accomplished, world-class drug hunters. By reimagining the drug development process, we are creating a deep and broad drug pipeline that holds the potential to transform human health. Employment Type: Full-Time The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and innovative computational chemist who excels in applying cutting-edge computational methods to advance small-molecule drug discovery programs. This role will be instrumental in driving the use of advanced simulations, free energy perturbation (FEP), generative design and molecular dynamics (MD) techniques across various therapeutic projects at Odyssey. The ideal candidate is a passionate drug hunter with extensive experience in computational medicinal chemistry, virtual screening, and structure-based drug design. As a key team member within the organization, you will influence programs by applying your deep expertise in computational chemistry, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and advancing the scientific impact of our platform. Your contributions will shape the design of novel therapeutics in inflammatory diseases, while fostering innovation through both collaboration and scientific excellence. Responsibilities Scientific Leadership : As a core member of the project team, leverage your expertise in computational methods, together with in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the project, to design and execute in silico experiments that solve project issues and accelerate compound progression Data champion : Create data visualizations and perform analyses that enable the team to derive scientific insights and to better understand the relationships among assays and chemical properties Strategic Collaboration : Partner with medicinal chemists, structural biologists, and other cross-functional teams to integrate computational insights into drug discovery workflows, guiding the selection and optimization of compounds. Computational Drug Discovery : Apply your experience in cryptic pocket identification and virtual screening to tackle challenging and "undruggable" targets, contributing to the progression of discovery programs. Lead efforts to apply state-of-the-art computational chemistry methods, including free energy perturbation, molecular dynamics, and machine-learning-assisted drug discovery, to identify and optimize novel small molecules. Innovation and Impact : Stay at the forefront of computational chemistry by incorporating the latest advancements in simulation methods and machine learning. Apply these tools to drive program success and expand the capabilities of Odyssey’s platform. Mentorship and Influence : Serve as a role model for junior scientists and cross-functional collaborators by demonstrating the potential of computational methods in moving programs forward. Foster a culture of innovation and scientific rigor through your example. Qualifications and Skills PhD in Computational Chemistry, Chemistry, Biophysics, or related field with at least six plus years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry Significant experience applying computational methods to small-molecule drug discovery projects Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and a zeal for sharing across projects and functions Proficiency in deploying FEP and MD simulations to guide hit identification, lead optimization, and compound design A passion for applying computational methods to address complex therapeutic challenges, with demonstrated success in working on difficult-to-drug targets Proven ability to lead and manage teams, coupled with a track record of impactful contributions to drug discovery programs Affinity for a fast-paced environment, ability to react quickly to new data, and the curiosity to continually learn and apply new methods Seniority level
