This role supports a Navy customer in Dahlgren, VA. Job Description and Responsibilities
A Systems Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an IT professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. These products are often sophisticated systems that run on the web. The systems engineer is responsible to integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices. Duties of a systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware and web application, including: specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance. Basic Requirements
7 years of professional experience in systems engineering with six (6) years of professional experience in relation to design and implementation in local area network (LAN)/ wide area network (WAN) corporate environments using Cisco, Juniper, TCP/IP and VoIP technologies with routers, switches, fiber optics, firewalls and cable plant designs. Clearance
Top Secret (US citizenship required) Education Requirements
Bachelor's level degree in an Engineering discipline. Certifications
CWF designation at the IAT III level or 441 Work Role Code with the proficiency level of Advanced. Acceptable certifications are: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security CompTIA SecurityX (formerly CASP+) GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) GIAC Cloud Security Essentials (GCLD) GIAC Defensible Security Architecture (GDSA) GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies (GFACT) GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) Contract
