Position

Sommelier/Captain Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for floor supervision within the restaurant. Motivate and mentor staff’s wine knowledge, inspire & delight guests, and foster an environment of excellence in food, wine & service. Resolve guest issues, make menu suggestions, deliver food and drinks to tables, describe dishes to guests, and recommend wine selections. Oversee service staff, monitor guest satisfaction, and maintain the flow of service throughout the dining room. Be pleasant, conscientious, and professional with excellent knowledge of food and alcoholic beverage selections and service standards. Operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, ensure smooth service operations and quality service. Required Qualifications

3-4 years of fine dining leadership experience; typically involving at least 5 years of dining room experience with thorough knowledge of fine dining, service procedures, and functions. Cleanliness, organization, and the ability to work well in a team. Extensive food and wine knowledge. Must be of minimum age to serve alcohol. High school or equivalent education required. A strong dedication toward learning and motivation to progress in a fine dining environment. Excellent basic math skills; ability to operate a cash register POS and Microsoft-based systems; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and strong financial acumen. Impeccable grooming, good hygiene, good posture, and required uniform and tools. Responsive to constructive feedback from Chefs and Managers. MS Level 2 certification is preferred.
