Overview
Senior Financial Accounting Project Director role at Integrated Finance & Accounting Solutions (IFAS). Essential Job Functions
Serves as the Senior Lead over a team of accountant subject matter experts, senior and staff accountants, and other related staff providing audit and accounting support to the IRS, including assisting with reviewing and researching new or amended accounting standards and guidance (e.g., SFFAS, Treasury Financial Manual, OMB circulars) and documenting changes for the IRS CFO Financial Management team; assisting with external financial reports, supporting documentation, and responding to audit or internal control review questions. Perform federal financial accounting, analysis, and reporting using IRS Federal SAP financial management system, including reporting, GAAP practices, techniques, and practices. Lead and support revenue reporting and Headquarters accounting, including reporting of revenue and refunds in seven Tax Classes, and preparing financial statements, data book tables, monthly/quarterly reporting internally and to OMB, and to support GAO audits. Perform Financial Reporting (Administrative and Revenue Accounting) for Annual Financial Statements (audited) and periodic financial statements (unaudited). Lead and support the compilation of audit and review deliverables such as work papers and requests (e.g., annual financial statement audit and FACT testing of internal controls in accordance with OMB Circular A-123). Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including consolidated financial statements, Government-wide Treasury GTAS submissions, quarterly comparative financial statements, and the Agency Financial Report. Review, evaluate, and recommend stronger internal controls over financial reporting, reconciliations, work papers, and business processes. Provide advice, assistance, research, and analysis support in areas beyond routine financial statement requirements. Support General Ledger Review and the Review and Reconciliation sections; perform expense, revenue, Property and Equipment (P&E) analysis, and record recurring accruals and manual adjustments for various business processes. Qualifications
Minimum
Minimum of a BS in Accounting (Master's degree can substitute). Certified Public Accountant (CPA). 10+ years of relevant experience. 8+ years of experience in Federal Financials using GAAP and related practices. Proven experience in SAP Federal Financial Management and Procurement software. Preferred
