Responsibilities
The University of South Alabama Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine is seeking a talented and motivated academic joint replacement surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor to become a member of our rapidly growing clinical practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, clinical practice, and conducting innovative research in joint disorders, including but not limited to arthroplasty, joint preservation, and minimally invasive techniques. This position will also involve mentorship of medical students and residents, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in departmental and interdisciplinary teams. Leadership positions are available to qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:
Play major role in development of expanding practice Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and hands-on workshops focused on hip and knee arthroplasty. Provide clinical care, including surgical procedures and patient management related to hip and knee disorders. Engage in innovative research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and educational outcomes. Mentor and supervise medical students and orthopaedic residents. Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and professional organizations.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. Candidate must be eligible for Alabama medical licensure Completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. Fellowship training in Joint Surgery or a related subspecialty is preferred. Board certified or board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to teaching and education in an academic setting.
