Head/Neck cancers include cancers of the nasopharynx, sinuses, oropharynx (HPV-mediated and those related to smoking/alcohol use), oral cavity, tongue, salivary glands, among others (including skin cancers that metastasize to Head/Neck regions). Stanford Health Care strives to ensure APPs work at the top of their license/scope, and APPs will transition over time from working in co-shared settings with their MD colleagues to treating the same patient panel in their independent clinic. Patients seen in independent practice include previously treated patients under surveillance, newly diagnosed patients, patients on cancer treatment (short-term and long-term), and patients requiring transition to hospice after multiple lines of treatment.
