Overview
Physician/Faculty – Orthopedic Infectious Diseases (Open Rank) position at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. The primary interest is orthopedic infectious diseases clinically and in research. The ideal applicant will be ready to develop a clinical research program in orthopedic infections and mentor other faculty. Clinical duties will focus on inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases, with involvement in the musculoskeletal infections program, development of research projects and quality improvement, and participation in division educational activities. This is a multidisciplinary role within the limb restoration and salvage team. Key Responsibilities
Outpatient clinical services for general and orthopedic infectious diseases Inpatient consultative services on orthopedic and general services. Supervise fellow/resident/medical students on inpatient services Work with APPs and clinical support staff on inpatient and outpatient services Develop a clinical research program in orthopedic ID Engage in teaching and mentoring of trainees Publish scholarly work from research and quality improvement projects Participate in division case conferences, journal clubs and grand rounds Participate in multidisciplinary rounds for discussion of complex infectious diseases cases with orthopedics, plastic surgery and other specialties Work Location
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. Academic rank will be determined during the interview process after discussion between you and the department about your previous experience and academic desires. Assistant Professor: MD/DO (or equivalent) or MD-PhD degree; Completion of ID fellowship at accredited program; Board certified/eligible Associate Professor: MD/DO (or equivalent) or MD-PhD degree; Completion of ID fellowship at accredited program; Board certified/eligible Professor: MD/DO (or equivalent) or MD-PhD degree; Completion of ID fellowship at accredited program; Board certified/eligible Preferred Qualifications
Experience in basic, translational or clinical research Demonstrated publication record Existing or potential extramural funding Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
ID clinical practice skills Collegiality Ability to collaborate with other specialties, particularly orthopedic surgeons Teaching and mentoring skills Scholarly work according to interest and aptitude How to Apply

The anticipated pay range (hiring range) depends on academic rank: Assistant Professor: $190,000 to $210,000 Associate Professor: $215,000 to $230,000 Professor: $260,000 to $280,000 The above salary range is the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate.
