Minimum Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of one year work experience in a public contact job, as a Radiology Technician.
Education/Knowledge Requirements: Graduate of accredited x-ray technician program.
Licensure/Certification: Maintain CPR certification, American Registry of Radiologic Technologist required.
Responsibilities
Prepares patients for x-ray procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures. Ensures equipment is in working order. Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc; collecting patient history; taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines; charting, relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls, and providing pertinent information Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include; sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information etc. completing forms, requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately, and other front office responsibilities, as required. Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: preparing patient rooms, setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; managing inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms. Complies with Alleghenies Independent Physicians policies and procedures. Complies with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies, i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Dept of Health, HIPAA. Maintains strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
