Overview
Join our orthopaedic sports surgery team as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) at Luminis Health in Annapolis, MD. This role balances clinic-based care with first-assist responsibilities in the operating room for elective orthopedic sports procedures, focusing on hip, knee, and shoulder treatment and surgery. Responsibilities
Provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced orthopedic sports clinic, including acute/same-day visits, pre/post-operative management, and ongoing treatment plans.
Serve as first assist in the operating room during elective orthopedic sports surgeries.
Interpret diagnostic imaging (X-rays, MRIs) to guide clinical decision-making.
Administer joint and soft tissue injections as part of comprehensive treatment plans.
Evaluate and manage sports-related injuries, including trauma to the hip, knee, and shoulder.
Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment options, post-operative care, and rehabilitation plans.
Collaborate with attending surgeons and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality care.
Refer patients to appropriate providers as needed based on clinical findings.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program.
Current Maryland licensure and national certification (NCCPA or board-certified NP).
Licensed as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Maryland or eligible.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; orthopedic or surgical experience strongly preferred. Ability to first-assist in OR.
Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
