Base pay range $97.75/hr - $156.40/hr
Major Responsibilities
Provides all elements of pre-anesthesia, anesthesia and post-anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care consistent with anesthesia plan and in collaboration with the surgeon/anesthesiologist/surgical team.
Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
Participates in preoperative evaluation including assessment, exam, obtaining informed consent, ordering/administering pre‑medications, and reviewing preoperative studies.
Ensures readiness and availability of equipment, supplies and medications to perform the planned anesthetic.
Delivers anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence from anesthesia.
Selects, obtains, and administers the necessary anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and temperature regulating devices to manage the anesthetic, assesses response, and intervenes as needed.
Performs post-anesthesia duties including remaining with the patient and facilitating safe transfer of care, administering post-operative analgesia in collaboration with the surgeon, and addressing anesthesia-related complications.
Manages emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining disposition of patients, including advanced airway management and administration of emergency drugs and fluids.
Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and ensures compliant coding and billing practices.
Other Responsibilities
Participates in quality, safety and peer review initiatives, organizational/departmental meetings, peer review, and workgroups as necessary.
Participates in education and onboarding of new team members, students, and other health care professionals.
Seeks experiences to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and advance the profession within and outside of the organization.
Maintains standards of productivity, access, face-to-face time, and quality metrics to ensure optimal, safe and timely patient care delivery.
Licensure, Registration, Certification Minimum Education and Experience Required
Active RN and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice, AND
Active national board certification as CRNA by NBCRNA, AND
Active DEA registration prior to hire, AND
If Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire, AND
Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice and/or role prior to or within 6 months of hire, AND
Education Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing
Experience Required: No experience required

Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team.
Ability to adapt to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate and build relationships with others.
Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
Must have functional vision and hearing.
Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist; lift up to 20 lbs. overhead; carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance; push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
May be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines.
Exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids hazards; wear gloves, goggles and gowns as needed.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during shift.
Performs patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling with proper technique.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
