Report to the Regional Chief Medical Officer for clinical matters and the Hospital Chief Executive Officer or designee for administrative matters. Provide professional medical services on a full-time basis to patients of assigned hospital(s). Services include those customary to physicians practicing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, including rounding and consultations on patients. Collaborate with Facility leadership, staff, and other practitioners to develop, implement and evaluate patient care policies and procedures reflecting current standards of practice. Identify, evaluate and address medical and clinical concerns that affect patient care, medical care, quality of life, or the provision of services by physicians and other licensed health care practitioners. Evaluate, diagnose, consult and manage patients with physical and/or cognitive impairment and disability, including treatment of painful or functionally limiting conditions, management of co-morbidities, diagnostic/therapeutic injections, electro-diagnostic medicine, and prevention of disability-related complications. Assess, stabilize and determine disposition of emergent cases in accordance with Medical Staff Policy. Privileges include neuromuscular and musculoskeletal evaluation and treatment planning; admission to inpatient or other levels of care; pre-admission assessments; plan of care reviews; and related documentation. Perform general history and physical examinations and related pre-admission screening and plan of care activities; participate in the execution of day 4 plan of care reviews and rehabilitation procedures. Provide prompt, courteous and competent professional services in accordance with generally accepted professional standards. Perform administrative services as reasonably required. Maintain complete and accurate medical and other records in compliance with regulatory, legal and accrediting standards (e.g., PAS, IPOC, IPOC, IRF-PAI, progress notes, admission orders, and related records). Position Qualifications
Education and Training:
Must possess M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school. Must hold a current state medical license. Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Certification or active status in examination process leading to Certification in PM&R by ABPMR or AOBPMR is preferred. Experience:
Prior experience as Medical Director/leadership preferred. Current practice in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Leadership:
