Cincinnati Children’s (CCHMC) is inviting applications for a Congenital Heart Surgeon. The individual selected will join the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, a team dedicated to progressive surgical care of children with cardiothoracic pathology. The division collaborates with Cardiology and Molecular Cardiovascular Biology and leads in research, including basic science, 3D modeling and virtual surgery, and translational studies. The faculty appointment is granted by the University of Cincinnati (UC) and the surgeon will be a full faculty member in the CCHMC division of Congenital Heart Surgery, reporting to the Chief of the Division. The surgeon will be a member of the Congenital Heart Surgery lab and participate in research efforts. Responsibilities

Operate as a stand-by network surgeon supporting Cincinnati Children’s partnered hospital systems (e.g., Akron Children’s Hospital, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, and other partners). Be available within 72 hours to report to a partner site; may reside where desired. Develop and grow the Heart Network with CCHMC while working with the Chief Cardiothoracic Surgeon at each Heart Network location. Assignments may include vacation coverage, weekend/holiday on-call shifts, monthly shifts, coverage for several months, or ongoing assignments; duration depends on partner needs. Compensation will be commensurate with time worked. Be a member of the Congenital Heart Surgery lab and participate in a variety of research efforts. Qualifications

MD/DO degree (or equivalent); current active unrestricted medical license. Associate or Full Professor appointment with UC Department of Pediatrics or Surgery as applicable. Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Congenital Heart Surgery or international equivalent. Appropriate medical credentialing through the Medical Staff Services office; completion of all pre-employment activities (screening, background check, badging, orientation). Must disclose any official disciplinary actions by a hospital, specialty board, medical association, or government agency. Desirable Qualifications

Teaching and training competence in pediatrics for medical students, residents, and fellows. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Application Information
