Product Manager - Technical
We are looking for a Product Manager - Technical to own and deliver new products and features for the Aerospace industry. Amazon Web Services provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. We build and operate fully managed services and features that connect customer-owned edge hardware, such as spacecraft and satellite antennas, to the cloud. Today, those are AWS Ground Station, and Mission Networking (MNet): Bitstreams. Our solutions empower customers to build ground segment architectures in the cloud, control their satellites, process data, and scale operations. Come support the mission with us! This opportunity is for a Product Manager - Technical to join the Aerospace Edge Solutions team and own product/feature development for customer's to connect to the cloud. You will work closely with our customers to understand how customer data moves today and how we can provide a seamless solution for their data to flow to the cloud in the future. You will lead collaboration between the engineering teams, the AWS field, and the customer to define new offerings. You will own bringing the service to customers including naming, pricing, internal and external communications. You will influence AWS Senior leadership on the service launch, roadmap, and future services we should add to the portfolio. Along the way, you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders. This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. Key job responsibilities: Develop a deep understanding of our customers and their unique journey to Commercial and Government clouds Become a Voice of the Customer to the Aerospace Edge Solutions team and the larger Secure Connection Services organization Own the AWS Working Backwards process for your service including definition, pricing, naming, and launch. Work closely with three engineering teams to provide technical recommendations on their designs Own the long term vision for your service, communicating that vision to our senior leaders Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience 3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above Preferred Qualifications: Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market) Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
