Manager, Network Engineering
People Inc. is seeking a Manager, Network Engineering to lead our network engineering and network infrastructure administration team within the IT Engineering department. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing, evolving, and securing the enterprise and multi-cloud network infrastructure that supports a dynamic, hybrid workforce and a broad portfolio of brands and services. This role encompasses team leadership, architecture and strategy, and day-to-day operations of the company's network services across several US offices and a regional office in India, as well as AWS, GCP, and OCI environments. As the Manager of the Network Engineering team, you will lead engineers and administrators across the US and India, overseeing daily operations, long-term planning, and CapEx/OpEx budgeting for cloud properties, SaaS/IaaS platforms, and LAN environments. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in managing complex network infrastructures, driving cost efficiencies, and implementing innovative solutions across hybrid environments. Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and network systems administrators.
Provide technical direction, coaching, and career development support.
Drive a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Manage staffing, hiring, performance reviews, and project prioritization.
Network Architecture & Operations Oversee the design, implementation, and management of corporate office networks, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall configurations.
Support small data centers and ensure resilient network connectivity for local and remote employees across US and India sites.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure proper procurement, maintenance, and lifecycle planning for network hardware and software.
Multi-Cloud Networking Lead network architecture and implementation across AWS, GCP, and OCI, including VPCs, inter-region connectivity, VPNs, Transit Gateways, and hybrid networking.
Define and implement network security policies, segmentation, and observability for cloud workloads.
Collaborate with security, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless, secure, and scalable cloud integrations.
Incident Response & Support Ensure 24/7 support coverage for critical network infrastructure.
Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting strategies to proactively detect and resolve network issues.
Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for recurring incidents or performance bottlenecks.
Process, Documentation & Strategy Standardize and automate network operations and deployment processes.
Maintain up-to-date network documentation, topology maps, and operational runbooks.
Contribute to long-term network strategy and capital planning, aligning with business growth and digital transformation goals.
In-office Expectations: This position is initially hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week. The office is located conveniently in the World Trade Center of New York City. About The Team
The Enterprise IT Infrastructure Engineering team at People Inc. is organized into five specialized groups, reporting to the Director of Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering. Platform Engineering - Builds and maintains internal developer platform, infrastructure microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools. This team drives DevOps practices and contributes to the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE). Infrastructure Engineering - Manages core infrastructure services including server and container images, operating systems, Kubernetes, Docker, and limited on-prem VMs and SAN storage. Supports both cloud-native and hybrid workloads in collaboration with cloud operations and the CCoE. Network Engineering - Designs and operates enterprise networking across U.S. offices, a regional India office, and multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, OCI). Oversees LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, and cloud networking architecture. Media Engineering - Supports media data workflows and video tools such as Iconik and LucidLink. Manages infrastructure and operations for video storage, access, and integration with internal and cloud systems. Data Center Operations - Maintains on-premises and co-located data centers, along with office IT infrastructure such as power, cabling, and hardware installation.
