Prairie View A&M University Compliance | Title IX $4,389.18 monthly Prairie View, Texas Staff The Civil Rights Investigator, under direction of the Director of Title IX Compliance and Title IX Coordinator, is responsible for conducting thorough, unbiased, and prompt investigations of allegations of discrimination or harassment in accordance with University policies, Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Texas state law. Investigations may involve allegations by or against faculty, staff, or students based on a protected class. The Civil Rights Investigator ensures that the University response to civil rights allegations is timely, thorough, and appropriate. Responsibilities: Investigate complaints filed by students and employees involving protected-class discrimination and harassment. Serve as a Title IX investigator for student and employee cases related to sex- and gender-based discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking, sexual exploitation, and retaliation. Act as a neutral party through all aspects of investigation process and ensure fair treatment of all parties. Ensure prompt, impartial, well documented, and trauma informed investigation processes. Maintain privacy of sensitive information and confidentiality to the extent allowed by federal regulations, state laws and university policies, including FERPA. Maintain accurate, thorough and unbiased investigatory files. Create comprehensive written investigative reports. Collaborate and consult with appropriate university offices in the course of investigations, including Student Conduct and Human Resources. Represent the department at special events, community functions, and University trainings. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree. Two years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in higher education administration, college student personnel, criminal justice, psychology, or law. Two (2) years in higher education student conduct, employee relations, Title IX compliance, or civil rights compliance. Two (2) years conducting civil rights or Title IX investigations in higher education. Five (5) years of related experience in higher education civil rights compliance, civil rights investigations, higher education employee relations, or related experience. Certification(s) in civil rights investigations from ATIXA, Husch-Blackwell, ICS Lawyer, EEOC, SHRM, NASPA, or similar organizations.
