Job Details: Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Oncology RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. You will be part of a team that supports patient care and oncology treatment delivery, with a focus on patient outcomes and safety.

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Summary

The Oncology Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to cancer patients in hospital and clinical settings. This role involves administering cancer treatments, managing side effects, and providing education and emotional support to patients and families. The RN collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to professional standards of confidentiality, integrity, and safety.

Essential Work Functions

• Educate patients and families about oncology procedures and treatments, addressing concerns and fostering understanding
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved oncology nursing techniques
• Prepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment, assisting oncologists during treatment and examinations
• Monitor and address patients' comfort, safety, and side effects; implement interventions to enhance quality of life
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, document changes and responses
• Maintain detailed and accurate nursing documentation in medical records
• Respond to life-saving situations according to oncology nursing standards and protocols
• Develop and implement individualized education plans for patients and families
• Participate in oncology quality improvement initiatives
• Advocate for patients and support them in navigating treatment plans
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

• English reading and writing proficiency
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
• Physical ability to stay stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel
• Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment
• Mental ability to work under deadlines, sometimes with irregular schedules
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
