ER RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Healthcare Setting: Oncology Pod – Emergency Department
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse (locum tenens)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Unit Size: 19 beds, 15 rooms
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,720–$1,770

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
• Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio RN license)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Two professional references (one from a manager/director or supervisor)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Perform IV starts and phlebotomy procedures
• Monitor telemetry and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products and IV vasopressors
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac rhythms
• Apply isolation precautions and triage patients
• Care for ventilated patients and those requiring CPAP/BiPAP
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary)
