Job Details

Location: Facility in Houston, Texas

Position: Rehab RN (Travel, 13 weeks)

Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing assessment of patients on the unit and document appropriately into patient records
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including educating them about procedures and post-operative care
  • Coordinate and provide holistic patient care, including mobility support, rehabilitation exercises, and activities of daily living (ADLs), while ensuring adherence to individualized care plans
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ responses to therapeutic interventions, document progress, and communicate any deviations or concerns to the interdisciplinary team
  • Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring proper documentation and safety protocol compliance
  • Maintain a clean, organized environment and ensure rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment to support rehabilitation care
  • Assist with safe patient transport to and from therapy sessions, diagnostic procedures, or other care areas as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

  • One year of recent experience as a Rehab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities: remain stationary as needed, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel to maintain professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills: grasp, fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements: cope with frequent contact with the general public and deadlines under pressure; work under supervision when required and occasionally work without assistance; manage irregular activity schedules
  • Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
