• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract Registered Nurse position)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Adolescent Unit
• Start Date: August 7, 2025
• End Date: November 6, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: Evening shifts (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), every other weekend and holiday
• Shift Length: 8-hour evening shifts

Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,100 - $2,250

Qualifications – Psychiatric Registered Nurse

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience with adolescent and adult populations
• Current CPR certification (required)
• Experience in restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention (preferred)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to float to similar or lower acuity psychiatric units as needed
• Willingness to assume charge nurse responsibilities when required

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect nursing care to psychiatric adolescent and adult patients, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and document individualized psychiatric treatment plans
• Advocate for patients and families, championing patient-centered mental health care
• Utilize trauma-informed recovery models and evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices
• Demonstrate effective crisis management, time management, and team-building skills
• Maintain professional boundaries while fostering therapeutic nurse-patient relationships
• Document patient care using electronic medical records (EMR) and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Float to other behavioral health units and perform charge nurse duties as needed
