Psychiatric RN Job Details

• Location: Natick, MA 01760 (MetroWest Boston area)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (August 4, 2025 – November 1, 2025)
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,680 - $1,800
• Unit: Adult Psychiatric (28 beds, including 6 acute care beds)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: As needed within skillset (adult psych, geriatric psych, child/adolescent psych)
• Charting System: Meditech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact state
• At least 1 year of recent psychiatric nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• CPI certification (may be obtained onsite within 60 days of start)
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills

Psychiatric Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult psychiatric patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patients with depression, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders
• Administer psychiatric medications and treatments as prescribed
• Participate in interdisciplinary behavioral health treatment planning and patient education
• Support special procedures such as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech
• Float to other behavioral health units (geriatric, child/adolescent) as needed
