Job Summary:

The RN Preceptor is committed to lifelong learning with a spirit of inquiry and a sense of duty to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care. The Super Preceptor is an upskilled preceptor with enhanced knowledge. They are resource experts, promoting best practices while serving as a mentor on the unit for the new RN graduate.

Responsibilities:

• Provides coaching through challenges and common problems.
• Identifies issues or concerns and facilitates resolution.
• Initiates resources when signs of stress are identified to promote self-care and wellness.
• Identifies knowledge gaps and provides just-in-time education.
• Builds confidence and supports team members to seek out best practices.
• Finds solutions to patient care challenges and empowers new graduates.
• Develops and mentors professional practice-ready nurses.
• Reviews TSAM phases/level of training and assists preceptor to monitor progress.
• Manages documentation appropriately of encounters in approved tracking method.
• Provides teaching and training to evidence-based standards in a learning environment.
• Attends additional training as assigned and/or required.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required: BSN
• Preferred: MSN or Doctor of Nursing
• 3+ years of experience
• Active preceptor experience in the past 12 months
• BLS and ACLS Certified
