Job Details

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a CVICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in San Antonio, Texas. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality critical care, using life-support equipment, and supporting patient safety and family education within a high-acuity ICU environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to changes in condition
• Administer complex medications and treatments per approved critical care nursing techniques
• Operate and manage advanced life support equipment
• Ensure patient safety and comfort in high-acuity ICU settings, addressing physical and emotional needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses promptly and accurately
• Perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring as applicable (arterial lines, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery catheters)
• Provide education to patients and families regarding ICU care and recovery expectations
• Communicate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care
• Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures through ongoing education
• Adhere to infection control protocols and regulatory standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU outcomes
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a CVICU RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
• TNCC, NIHSS certification
• Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position

• Physical ability to move and position equipment (up to 50-100 lbs) and perform related tasks

• Mental ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage irregular schedules
