Job Details
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a CVICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in San Antonio, Texas. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality critical care, using life-support equipment, and supporting patient safety and family education within a high-acuity ICU environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to changes in condition
- Administer complex medications and treatments per approved critical care nursing techniques
- Operate and manage advanced life support equipment
- Ensure patient safety and comfort in high-acuity ICU settings, addressing physical and emotional needs
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses promptly and accurately
- Perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring as applicable (arterial lines, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery catheters)
- Provide education to patients and families regarding ICU care and recovery expectations
- Communicate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care
- Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures through ongoing education
- Adhere to infection control protocols and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU outcomes
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a CVICU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
- TNCC, NIHSS certification
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position

- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficient in PC skills
- Physical ability to move and position equipment (up to 50-100 lbs) and perform related tasks

- Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment
- Mental ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage irregular schedules
- Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
