- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00pm – 7:30am)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period, holiday rotation
- Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs
- Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4 based on acuity
- Charting System: Epic EMR
Qualifications
- Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN License (pending license considered with proof of application)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level IV NICU nursing experience (Level III considered case-by-case)
- Certifications required: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Clinical skills: IV vasopressors, isolation precautions, arterial line management, central line care, neonatal feeding methods, management of neonates <24-28 weeks, dysrhythmia interpretation, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), UAC/UVC, surfactants, steroids
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized, goal-directed patient care to neonates and families in a high-acuity NICU environment
- Monitor and manage premature and critically ill infants, including those requiring ECMO/CRRT and surgical support
- Perform advanced neonatal procedures and interventions as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other nursing units within scope as required
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
- Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
- Support infant home monitoring program for discharged NICU patients
