NICU RN Job Details – Charleston, SC

• Location: Charleston, SC 29401 (South Carolina nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM; Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1530–$1640 per week
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period; holiday rotation required
• Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
• Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4 depending on acuity
• Charting System: EPIC

NICU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience (Level IV preferred; Level III considered)
• Active South Carolina RN License or Multi-State/Compact State Registered Nurse License (must be active prior to start)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• Proficiency in advanced NICU skills: ventilator management, arterial and central line care, UAC/UVC, ECMO/CRRT support, neonatal surgical care
• Experience with neonates <24-28 weeks, dysrhythmia interpretation, and neonatal abstinence syndrome preferred
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Ability to complete pre-employment modules and orientation as required

NICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized, goal-directed nursing care to neonates and families in a high-acuity NICU environment
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for premature and critically ill infants
• Administer respiratory and nutritional support, including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and feeding tubes
• Monitor and manage central lines, arterial lines, UAC/UVC, and IV vasopressors
• Implement isolation precautions and infection control measures
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and support infant home monitoring programs
• Float to other clinical units within scope as needed to support hospital operations
